HISTOMORPHOLOGICAL PATTERNS OF HYSTERECTOMY SPECIMENS IN A TERTIARY CARE HOSPITAL: A TWO-YEAR STUDY

Introduction: Hysterectomy is the second most common gynecological surgery next to caesarean section. The indications for hysterectomy may vary from one region another and histomorphological pattern also vary. Aim: aim of study analyze various patterns uterine adnexal pathology in specimens. Material Methods: This a retrospective done over period two years at department Pathology, Zoram Medical College, Mizoram. Data all specimens during this were analyzed. Results: Out 142 cases, Leiomyoma was seen followed by adenomyosis, 63% 13% respectively. Chronic cervicitis cervical and, ovaries, tumor-like lesions functional cysts seen. indication fibroid dysfunctional bleeding. Conclusion: histopathological findings correlate with pre-operative clinical however, number incidental findings. Therefore, it important that every specimen be subjected examination better post-operative management.
